ANTI-SOVIET UPRISINGS After the Second World War, the countries of Eastern Europe were captured by socialist regimes under the control of the Soviet Union. Opposition to this oppressive system, however, led to anti-government and anti-Soviet uprisings. In the end, however, the hopes of the citizens were crushed by tanks. |
